How It Works

Dots is a fully configurable side bet where players earn or lose dots on each hole based on specific events you choose. Before the round, you pick which dot types are active — rewards for great shots and penalties for disasters. At the end, dots convert to cash.

Reward Dots (19 types)

Birdie 🐦, Eagle 🦅, Sandy 🏖️, Greenie 🎯, Bingo 🛬, Bango 📍, Bongo 🏁, Chippie ⛳, Poley 📏, Stiffy 📌, Arnie 🌲, Watson 🤌, Sharkie 🦈, Scruffy 🛤️, Scramble 🔄, Barkies 🌳, Fairway ✅, Long Drive 🚀, GIR 🟢, 1-Putt 1️⃣. Toggle any combination — only the ones you activate show up during play.

Penalty Dots (12 types)

Water 💧, OB 🚧, Lost Ball 🔍, Trouble 😬, Dbl Bogey 💀, Worm Burn 🪱, Missed 2' 🤦, Bunker Fail ⛏️, Bunker x2+ 🔁, Whiff 💨, 3-Putt 3️⃣, 4-Putt 4️⃣. Penalty dots subtract from a player's total — good for keeping things honest.

Quick Presets

Four built-in presets get you going in seconds: Bingo Bango Bongo (first on, closest to pin, first to hole out), Junk (birdies + sandy + greenie + chippie + poley, with 3-putt penalty), Trouble (penalties only — water, OB, lost ball, trouble, 3-putt), and Arnies (par or better without hitting the fairway).

Multipliers

Each dot type can be worth 1×, 2×, or 3× on any given hole. Set multipliers individually per dot type, or use the "All" button to apply the same multiplier to every dot at once. Multipliers automatically carry forward from hole to hole — change them once and they stick until you change them again.

Options & Variations

Choose your own reward and penalty dots (or start from a preset). Payout mode: Fixed $/dot (default $2/dot, zero-sum across the field) or Winner Takes All (default $5/player — the player with the most net dots collects a flat amount from everyone, even if their total is negative). Per-dot value multipliers (dotValues, 1×–5×, set per type or all at once) carry forward hole to hole. Switch to Team mode (3+ players) to pool dots by side.

Results

The results screen shows each player's net dot total and dollar result. Tap any player to see a hole-by-hole breakdown — each hole lists exactly which reward and penalty dots they earned, with multiplier badges where applicable.

Pro Tips

• Start with a preset and tweak from there — it's faster than building from scratch.
• Multipliers are great for making the back nine feel higher stakes without changing the base bet.
• Dots runs alongside any other game — add it to Wolf or Nassau for extra action on every hole.
• Penalty dots create accountability — even the winner can lose money if they rack up disasters.
