Pure stroke play — lowest gross score wins
Medal play (also called stroke play) is the simplest format: every stroke on every hole counts. The player who completes the round in the fewest total GROSS strokes wins. This is PURE gross — no handicap is applied at all (the handicap section is hidden in setup).
Unlike match play, you cannot concede a hole. A blowup on hole 3 still counts in full. Minimizing big numbers is as important as making birdies.
A League (multi-group) event game scored across the whole field on gross strokes only — there are no handicap toggles. The shared entry fee funds a sliding-scale purse to the lowest gross finishers (ties split), with an optional rake/house cut; season order-of-merit points can be awarded by finish position.
Fully scorable inside a League event — configure it there under a season's event games. It can't run as a single casual round on its own (it needs the League's shared field and purse), so it always shows as League Only in the standard game picker (use the single-round Medal game for one group instead).
