How It Works

One or more "Star" players take on a "Team" of the rest of the group — sides can be any size (1v2, 1v3, 2v3, etc). Each side plays best ball: their score on a hole is the LOWEST net score among their own members.

Stroke & Match Play

Stroke: whichever side has the lower total best-ball net score over the round wins. Match: whichever side wins more holes wins. Both can be active at once — the payouts add together.

Options & Variations

Presses (if enabled) let the losing side start a new side-bet once the match is decided — pressed amounts add to the total. Handicaps are indexed on the low HC across everyone, Star and Team combined.

Payouts

Every player on the losing side pays the bet amount to every player on the winning side (bet-per-player, per pairing) — so a bigger mismatch in side size means a bigger total payout for the Star(s).

Pro Tips

• A 1-vs-many Star gets a bigger handicap cushion, but also faces best-ball from the whole Team on every hole — pick side sizes deliberately, not just for fun.
• The Team should lean on whichever member is hottest that day; the Star has nobody to share the load with.
